Position Summary:
The Advanced Practice Nurse - Radiation Oncology (APN) is a highly skilled nursing professional with specialized training in the field of oncology. This role involves the assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients dealing with oncology, hematology, and genetic conditions, employing advanced clinical evaluation techniques and a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic interventions. The APN's responsibilities encompass clinical practice, education, and research, including but not limited to patient education on chemotherapy, performing bone marrow biopsies, and conducting cancer surveillance. The APN is proficient in delivering clinical care and guidance to individuals facing concerns related to medical oncology and hematologic disorders, as well as hereditary cancer risks.
Job Specifics
- Oncology and hematology specialists within this Cancer Care Center are looking for a certified and state-licensed advanced practice nurse to provide full-time care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
- The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with no weekend obligations.
- Services provided include intravenous chemotherapy, adherence programs for oral chemotherapy, clinical trials, radiation therapy, high-risk genetic counseling, and survivorship programs.
- This state-of-the-art cancer center offers comprehensive patient care support services, including social work, nutritional guidance, financial assistance, pastoral care, palliative support, navigation services, and counseling groups.
- The facility is accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative.
- All providers are board-certified in oncology specialties.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a license to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services, and be licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois for the prescription of controlled substances.
