We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Critical Care/Trauma Physician to provide exceptional care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) during night shifts. This role is essential for ensuring the highest standards of medical attention for critically ill patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Management: Assess and treat critically ill patients in the ICU, delivering immediate and ongoing medical care.
- Procedural Expertise: Perform essential procedures such as intubation, central line placements, and lumbar punctures as required by patient conditions.
- Consultative Role: Offer expert medical advice to fellow healthcare professionals regarding the management of critically ill patients.
- Collaborative Care: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including intensivists, hospitalists, and other specialists, to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Diagnostic Interpretation: Analyze and integrate data from lab results and diagnostic tests to inform patient management strategies.
- Patient Education: Provide guidance to patients and their families about treatment options, potential complications, and prognoses.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient interactions and treatment plans in the Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Leadership: Foster a culture of clinical excellence and mentor junior staff to promote professional development.
- Quality Improvement: Engage in initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care and participate in relevant clinical research.
- Emergency Response: Act swiftly in response to acute changes in patient conditions, coordinating with the rapid response team as necessary.
- Ethical Compliance: Adhere to all legal and ethical standards while respecting patient confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification/eligibility in Critical Care Medicine.
- Active medical license in the state of Florida.
- Preferred minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an ICU setting.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
- Willingness to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
