About the Role

The Production Leadership Director at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions is a key position responsible for driving operational excellence, employee engagement, and regulatory compliance within our production facilities.

As a visible and active leader, you will energize and motivate a team of production employees, fostering a culture focused on safety, quality, cost-effectiveness, continuous improvement, and meeting production goals for water treatment solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the regeneration of ion exchange resins and other water treatment media, focusing on improving processes and increasing productivity.
  • Ensure facility compliance with all regulatory and non-regulatory obligations, including wastewater permits, occupancy permits, business licenses, and design criteria.
  • Develop and implement techniques and methods to increase plant efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Collaborate with Gulf Plants Manager & Operations Manager to resolve plant operational problems.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance supervisor to oversee preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure follow-through on emergency and unscheduled work.
  • Prepare reports for submission to Gulf Plants Operations Manager.
  • Work with the EHS team to implement, direct, and enforce plant safety and risk management programs.
  • Optimize operations by creating, implementing, and managing continuous improvement projects in areas such as chemical and utility usage, wastewater treatment, regeneration efficiency, water treatment equipment turnover, procurement, maintenance, and inventory management.
  • Oversee tool, material, equipment, and service requisition processes.
  • Ensure manufacturing/production functions are staffed and well-trained, and manage section personnel issues, including hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating.
  • Develop and sustain a Safety Culture of Built-in Quality, emphasizing Internal/External Customer relationships.
  • Complete all EHS training on time to ensure facility compliance with permits, attend the Annual Permit Day, host Monthly Safety Meetings, participate in Baytown Safety Audits, complete MSVs, update Training Competency monthly, provide documented feedback to associates quarterly, and review Key Business Indicators daily, escalating any deviations immediately.
  • Directly back up the Gulf Plants Operations Manager and perform other duties assigned by Gulf Plants Manager & Operations Manager.
  • Attend one Training Workshop and I&D event per quarter and lead at least 2 Kaizen events per year with a 'Story Board' and identify Cost Reduction benefits.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have a highly desirable bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Business, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing/services environment leading a team of 10+ hourly staff.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing management disciplines such as production and inventory control, variable cost productivity, and fulfillment metrics, quality systems, cost systems, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications, specifically Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Awareness of Lean Manufacturing process, Six Sigma, and/or Kaizen.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 QMS (nice to have).
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other governmental regulations (nice to have).
  • Experience and/or knowledge of water treatment processes such as deionization, softening, reverse osmosis, and de-oxygenation (nice to have).
  • Bilingual English Spanish (nice to have).

Compensation

We offer an estimated salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 annually, depending on location and experience. Benefits include a comprehensive package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
