About the Role

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a skilled Aerial Lineman to join our team. As an Aerial Lineman, you will be responsible for installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cable, placing and removing utility poles, and safely operating mechanized equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
  • Place and remove utility poles
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
  • Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
  • Flag traffic when required
  • Understand separation and clearance regulations
  • Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a DOT health card
  • Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry
  • A valid, unrestricted driver's license with good driving record
  • Willing to obtain Unrestricted Class A CDL within 6 months of employment
  • Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
  • Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
  • Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)
  • Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance
  • Ability to interact and communicate with co-workers & customers in a clear & professional manner
  • Ability to set up & maintain safe work areas
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to travel when travel is required
