Job Summary:
The Sanitation Specialist is tasked with maintaining cleanliness within the processing facility and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized properly, safeguarding the quality of our products.

Essential Job Functions:


Adhere to Hen Haven's protocols regarding product handling and packaging to meet or exceed customer expectations, including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the entire processing area.
  • Cleaning machinery according to company standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness in all facilities and rooms.
  • Proper disposal of waste and trash on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring shower areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • Stocking all towels, uniforms, and supplies as needed.

All facilities must be cleaned daily. Compliance with USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, Safety Programs, Biosecurity Policies, and Food Defense Programs is mandatory.


Inventory Management:

Maintain records of cleaning supplies and chemicals. Schedule regular cleaning of all facility surfaces, including ceilings, walls, and floors.

Report any mechanical issues or quality concerns to the Supervisor or Maintenance staff promptly. Resolve any immediately correctable issues during daily activities and assist colleagues as necessary.

Prioritize safety for yourself and your coworkers by following all safety protocols and reporting unsafe conditions to the plant supervisor immediately. Understand how to operate equipment safely in your area and contribute to a collaborative environment by communicating effectively with all plant staff.

Perform any additional tasks as requested by management.


Qualifications:


A High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred. Previous experience with egg grading machines is a plus but not required. Reading and comprehension skills are necessary to follow instructions and document processes. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 lbs, twist, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods on various surfaces, including concrete. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed is essential. Must be able to reach and lift overhead and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
