Job Summary:
The Sanitation Specialist is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness of the processing facility and its equipment, while also guaranteeing that eggs are handled in a manner that upholds quality standards.

Essential Job Functions:

Adhere to Hen Haven's protocols regarding product handling and packaging to meet or exceed customer expectations, including but not limited to:

• Maintaining cleanliness throughout the entire processing department.
• Ensuring machines are cleaned according to company standards.
• Cleaning all facilities and rooms thoroughly.
• Disposing of waste and trash daily and appropriately.
• Ensuring shower areas are kept clean and sanitized.
• Stocking all towels, uniforms, and supplies as needed.

All facilities must be cleaned daily. Compliance with USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, Safety Programs, Biosecurity Policies and Procedures, and Food Defense Programs is mandatory.

Inventory Management:

Track cleaning supplies and chemicals. Schedule regular cleaning of all facility surfaces, including ceilings, walls, and floors.

Promptly report any mechanical issues or quality concerns to the Supervisor or Maintenance staff for assistance with repairs. Resolve as many immediately correctable issues as possible during daily activities. Assist colleagues as necessary.

Prioritize safety for yourself and your coworkers by adhering to all safety protocols. Report any unsafe conditions to the plant supervisor without delay. Understand how to operate equipment safely in your area. Foster a collaborative environment by communicating effectively with all plant supervision and staff.

Complete all other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred. Previous experience with egg grading machines is a plus but not required. Reading and comprehension skills are necessary to follow instructions and document activities. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift 50 lbs, twist, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods on various surfaces, including concrete. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to reach and lift overhead is essential. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment.
