Job Title: Generator Technician Class A

Waukesha Pearce Industries (WPI) is seeking a skilled Generator Technician Class A to join our team. As a Generator Technician Class A, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, load testing, warranty repairs, and startups on generators and transfer switches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on generators and transfer switches
  • Conduct load testing and warranty repairs
  • Start up generators and transfer switches according to manufacturer requirements
  • Perform weekly truck inspections and maintain service truck, tools, and equipment in good working order
  • Complete service reports daily and fill out required JSA forms on every job
Requirements:
  • 3 years of previous generator experience or comparable manufacturer certification
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Knowledge of testing and load generators/engines
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Working knowledge of generator and electrical theory and how a generator works
  • Trade School or manufacturer certification preferred
  • Knowledge of both diesel and gaseous engines and fuel system requirements
Working Conditions:
  • Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Overtime and weekend hours as necessary
  • Outside work
