Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a marketing strategy that aligns with the Firm's business objectives
  • Lead the global marketing team and function, providing direction and guidance to team members
  • Collaborate with attorneys and practice groups to develop marketing and practice development initiatives
  • Oversee the implementation of key client programs and service initiatives to deepen and grow key client relationships
  • Develop and maintain key databases, including clients, contacts, and transactions
  • Lead the distribution of Firm publications, including mailings for client updates and announcements
  • Work with attorneys to update and maintain key databases
  • Engineer an approach to promote the Firm through seminars, newsletters, advertising, event planning, and Firm participation in community activities
  • Lead the development, management, and stewardship of the Firm's brand through marketing initiatives, events, media, social media, technology, and internal and external communication
  • Meet established deadlines for all projects while overseeing flawless execution
  • Ensure visibility of the marketing function and team within the Firm and legal industry
  • Work with Firm leadership to develop, manage, and meet a Firm-wide marketing budget
  • Establish and maintain a staffing structure to support the marketing efforts of the Firm

Requirements:

  • B.A. in marketing, communications, or related business field; advanced degree a plus
  • Expert understanding of social media and other new technologies and how they relate to marketing, branding, and contacts in a law Firm
  • 15+ years of marketing experience with a professional services Firm and a proven track record of success
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a law Firm or professional services environment
  • Proven track record of success in developing and executing marketing strategies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
  • Ability to lead and direct a team
