Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced communications leader to join our team as a Senior Communications Manager, Fintech. In this role, you'll work closely with our executive team to create and amplify narratives that reinforce Bluevine's mission, legacy, and strategy.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy to raise awareness about Bluevine's mission, legacy, and strategy.
  2. Lead and build upon the existing integrated communications strategy that focuses on corporate reputation, thought leadership, product GTM, and executive visibility.
  3. Evolve the messaging architecture to bring Bluevine's narrative to life in a differentiated and unique way.
  4. Develop executive visibility strategy and drive implementation, including identifying, tracking, securing, and executing against an annual calendar of high-value speaking, awards, and thought leadership opportunities.
  5. Actively source compelling story angles from a deep list of customers as well as internal stakeholders.
  6. Develop high-quality written materials that convey Bluevine's corporate narrative, including messaging frameworks, press releases, media Q&As, bylines, award entries, and more.
  7. Partner with marketing teammates to ensure consistent storytelling and strategic alignment around paid, earned, owned, and shared content and programs.
  8. Collaborate with the People Team on key internal communications initiatives.
  9. Support issues management activities, helping minimize any impact on Bluevine's reputation.
  10. Develop and maintain relationships with reporters, particularly in tech, business, banking, and policy.
  11. Educate key reporters and government officials on Bluevine's products, market opportunity, and competitive differentiation.
  12. Work closely with and provide counsel to key cross-functional stakeholders, particularly at the executive level.
  13. Develop strategies to ensure Bluevine is strategically positioned with analysts, investors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  14. Manage our PR agency of record, including day-to-day management, annual planning, ensuring delivery of strategic initiatives, managing budgets, and measuring quarterly performance.

Requirements

  1. 10+ years leading public relations or broader communications initiatives, ideally in fintech, banking, and financial services.
  2. Strong project management skills with meticulous attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects with a sense of urgency and focus.
  3. Extensive experience in developing effective positioning and differentiated storytelling.
  4. Highly strategic with a track record of helping companies navigate corporate issues.
  5. Experience with key business, technology, and financial services reporters, editors, and producers.
  6. Superior written and oral communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex topics and delicately handle sensitive topics.
  7. Infuse communications with the proper executive and brand voice.
  8. Collaborating with policy, legal, finance, HR, compliance, and other senior executives to align objectives of departments with that of the communications program.
  9. Managing communications within highly regulated industries.
  10. Created strategies and led campaigns to support/promote corporate fundraising.
  11. Created and/or managed company-branded data reports.

Exact compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including your experience, skills, and qualifications, as well as market trends. This role is also eligible to earn annual performance-based incentive compensation in the form of a cash bonus.

This is a hybrid role. At Bluevine, we have a collaborative culture and follow a hybrid model, working onsite Tuesdays and Thursdays.
