PRIMARY OBJECTIVE

The management trainee program is structured to provide aspiring managers with the essential skills and knowledge to excel in this role. Assignments will be determined based on the needs of the store.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all company policies and established standard practices.
  • In the absence of the department manager, oversee department operations in line with established practices.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and comply with the company's personal appearance standards.
  • Recognize and encourage associates who deliver exceptional service, and provide coaching when necessary.
  • Utilize company tools such as financial reports, scheduling, productivity metrics, ordering systems, and business information systems.
  • Foster effective communication within the department, with the store manager, and across the organization.
  • Implement merchandising techniques and layouts that align with company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing and coding policies within the department.
  • Follow management planning guidelines to uphold productivity.
  • Support safety standards and report any necessary equipment repairs or maintenance. Keep the work area free from hazards.
  • Acquire comprehensive product knowledge in all areas of the assigned department, including product preparation.
  • Fully understand the department's Standard Practice manual.
  • Ensure proper training for all department associates.
  • Uphold company sanitation and food safety standards.
  • Maintain the quality and presentation of the department.
  • Treat all associates with fairness, dignity, and respect, providing recognition for achievements and constructive feedback when needed.
  • Complete all special projects and duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to lead and guide others.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn various tasks and technical aspects of the job.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work collaboratively.
  • Must meet minimum age requirements as per company policy.
  • Effective communication and customer service abilities.
Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift cases or packages weighing 1-40 lb., and occasionally up to 100 lb.
  • Meet established volume activity standards.
  • Stand or walk for the entirety of the shift.
  • Perform repetitive grasping, twisting, reaching, and hand/arm motions.
  • Handle various substances related to cleaning and packaging materials.
  • Use hands continuously to feel objects and operate tools and equipment for product preparation.
  • Engage in frequent bending.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exemplify outstanding, friendly customer service and utilize skills to provide solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Direct the workflow of assigned department associates.
  • Ensure that products meet company standards.
  • Oversee assigned areas, including product rotation.
  • Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records.
  • Manage inventory control to maximize sales and minimize shrinkage.
  • Exercise sound judgment in delegating tasks and following up for efficient department performance.
  • Maintain effective staffing, scheduling, and financial outcomes for the department.
  • Clean, rinse, and sanitize equipment according to company protocols.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
