About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Greater Opportunities for Broome and Chenango, Inc. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our physical structures and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, apartments, and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, carpentry, and other necessary tasks.
  • Groundskeeping: Maintain and improve the appearance of our grounds, including mowing, weed eating, weeding, leaf blowing, cleaning, and picking up trash.
  • Snow Removal: Operate snow removal equipment to keep our grounds safe during winter months.
  • Small Engine Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on small engines, including lawn mowers, trimmers, and other equipment.
  • Appliance Repair: Repair and maintain appliances, including refrigerators, stoves, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to our tenants and staff, including responding to maintenance requests and providing information on our facilities.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in general maintenance, including groundskeeping, snow removal, and appliance repair.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license and any relevant licenses or certifications for maintenance and repair tasks.
