Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Administrator, Executive Director, or Patient Care Manager Senior and function under the direction, instruction, and supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor.
  • Help patients maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Prepare and serve light meals.
  • Assist in feeding patients when needed.
  • Assist patients in ambulation.
  • Assist with the safe use of a walker or wheelchair as taught and supervised by the nurse.
  • Assist with light housekeeping tasks such as emptying trash and changing linens.
  • Assist with certain treatments as ordered on the aide plan of care and as allowable in state-specific regulations.
  • Promote patients' mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.
  • Give basic emotional and psychological support to patients and other members of the household.
  • Report any change in patients' mental or physical condition or home situation to the Registered Nurse and members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate basic care to primary caregivers.
  • Practice infection control measures and standard precautions.
  • Provide accurate documentation with visit itineraries.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Participate in at least one Quality Improvement activity yearly, as assigned by supervisor.

As a compassionate and empathetic individual, you will demonstrate flexibility and composure while supporting others in times of crisis. You will have a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and six months of patient care experience in hospice, home health, ICU, geriatric, or oncology. A current driver's license and automobile insurance are also required.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 per year, based on the location and job requirements. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k plan, tuition reimbursement, and paid time off.
