Responsabilidades:

Servicios de Sonografía Cardíaca:

  • Realiza exámenes ecocardiográficos de rutina o limitados utilizando procedimientos establecidos para asegurar resultados óptimos.
  • Opera equipos de diagnóstico complejos, tanto estacionarios como móviles.
  • Asegura que las tareas rutinarias y prioritarias se completen dentro de los plazos establecidos por el departamento.
  • Prepara y asiste a los médicos en diversos procedimientos de sonografía cardíaca y/o imágenes guiadas durante procedimientos invasivos.
  • Proporciona al médico intérprete un resumen oral o escrito de los hallazgos técnicos.
  • Explica y educa al paciente sobre el procedimiento, medicamentos o medios de contraste, y sus efectos biológicos asociados de manera clara y profesional para reducir el miedo y la ansiedad.
  • Utiliza juicio independiente durante el examen de sonografía cardíaca para diferenciar con precisión entre hallazgos normales y patológicos.
  • Emplea habilidades cognitivas en sonografía cardíaca para identificar, registrar y adaptar procedimientos según la información anatómica, patológica y diagnóstica.
  • Realiza exámenes siguiendo el protocolo adecuado, incluyendo la correcta posición del paciente y la instrucción de respiración adecuada.
  • Monitorea la condición del paciente en todo momento mientras se encuentra en el departamento.

Funciones Administrativas:

  • Realiza tareas administrativas generales, como responder llamadas, actualizar citas de pacientes y gestionar registros electrónicos de salud.
  • Prepara y completa documentación precisa relacionada con pacientes, procedimientos y cargos de examen.
  • Controla y ordena accesorios y suministros periódicamente para mantener niveles de stock establecidos.

Seguridad:

  • Mantiene un entorno de trabajo limpio, ordenado y seguro, incluyendo la limpieza y desinfección del equipo después de cada procedimiento.
  • Inspecciona y calibra el equipo para asegurar su correcto funcionamiento y registra los resultados de control de calidad.

Cumplimiento:

  • Mantiene la confidencialidad más estricta de toda la información de salud protegida del paciente.
  • Realiza atención cardíaca de calidad en cumplimiento con los estándares del departamento y las regulaciones locales, estatales y federales.
  • Prepara, administra y documenta medicamentos y medios de contraste de acuerdo con las regulaciones estatales y federales.
  • Retiene certificaciones y completa requisitos de educación continua para cumplir con las acreditaciones y licencias necesarias.

Requisitos Educativos:

Graduado de un programa acreditado de Sonografía Cardíaca.

Certificación y Licencias:

RCS (CCI)-Sonografista Cardíaco Registrado o ARDMS (RDCS AE para adultos o RDCS PE para pediátricos). BLS-Proveedor de Soporte Vital Básico.

Habilidades y Conocimientos:

Conocimiento general de los principios y procedimientos de sonografía cardíaca, así como del funcionamiento y mantenimiento del equipo de imagen. Capacidad para realizar exámenes ecocardiográficos de rutina y comprensión básica de anatomía humana, fisiología, patología y terminología médica.

Excelentes habilidades de comunicación escrita y verbal para explicar información sensible de manera clara y profesional a diversas audiencias.

Habilidades de gestión del tiempo y organización, incluyendo la capacidad de priorizar tareas y trabajar dentro de procedimientos operativos estandarizados.

Conocimiento básico de aplicaciones informáticas, como Microsoft Office y sistemas de información relacionados.

Trabajo bajo supervisión cercana o dentro de procedimientos claramente definidos para completar tareas dentro de los plazos establecidos.
