Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner

Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team.
Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and documentation of cardiothoracic surgery patients in the pre-operative, intraoperative, and postoperative periods.
- Rounding in the ICU and on the floor, patient evaluation and treatment after team discussion with supervising physician, and clear and concise documentation in the electronic medical records.
- Perform conduit harvesting for Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting, first assist during Cardiac and thoracic cases, and other specialized procedures as directed by the physician.
- See patients for clinic visits, small office procedures, returning phone calls, and providing education and clarification to patients and their family members.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient care, refer patients to specialists as appropriate, and ensure continuity of care.
- MSN or higher graduate degree in nursing required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
- Graduate of an accredited ARPN graduate program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA (or successor).
- Licensed by the State Medical Board of Florida as a PA-C.
- Must have a Physician Supervision Agreement and/or signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement.
- Must be privileged by CCF's Credentialing Board.
- 3 years of CT surgery experience preferred, but not required.
- Newly licensed PAs and NPs that are Acute Care will be considered, especially with cardiothoracic clinical rotations.
The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and decision-making skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
They will also have demonstrated competency and the ability to perform advanced assessment and diagnosis, utilize the electronic medical record, and demonstrate a high standard of moral and ethical behavior.
The candidate will be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
