About the Role:

As a Chemical Engineering Intern at Burns & McDonnell, you will be responsible for applying standard engineering techniques and procedures to perform tasks. This includes designing engineering systems, correcting and updating designs, assisting lead engineers with project duties, and other assignments as needed.

The scope of your work will vary depending on the market segments. You will have the opportunity to work in the Oil, Gas & Chemical group, which is responsible for planning and designing facilities across the oil, gas, and chemicals spectrum. Our team specializes in process design for renewable fuels, chemical, refining, and midstream industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Pursue a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited program
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred
  • Actively involved in campus, community, or volunteer activities or organizations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field
  • Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
  • Involvement on campus or in the community preferred
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located
