Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Fund Accountant to elevate our financial operations. This role is ideal for someone eager to thrive in a vibrant and fast-paced environment, responsible for overseeing financial documentation and reports, performing account reconciliations, and executing comprehensive variance analyses. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of GAAP, Financial Accounting, and Fund Accounting principles. Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
2. Conduct in-depth variance analysis to clarify each line item on the balance sheet.
3. Establish and uphold internal controls over financial reporting.
4. Utilize advanced Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs for data analysis and reporting.
5. Oversee the accounting for private equity real estate funds and private credit.
6. Prepare and review fund-level financial statements, including the Statement of Net Assets and Statement of Operations.
7. Collaborate with external auditors to ensure a smooth and timely audit process.
8. Assist with special projects and initiatives as directed by management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
2. At least 3 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or similar roles.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP, Financial Accounting, and Fund Accounting.
4. Proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
5. Experience in accounting for private equity real estate funds and private credit is advantageous.
6. Solid understanding of balance sheet and variance analysis.
7. Proven ability to maintain and implement internal controls over financial reporting.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
10. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial information preparation and entry.
11. CPA designation or progress towards obtaining CPA designation is preferred.
