Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced team members in a family-oriented company, ensuring the continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and the ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools.

Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance support to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment.
  • Learn machine setup and demonstrate competency within 90 days.
  • Complete daily paperwork and walk-through items, understanding their importance.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, HAACP, 5S, and OSHA support programs.
  • Identify problems before they result in a hazard or downtime situation.
  • Assist in major overhauls of plant equipment and perform minor repairs.
  • Lubricate machinery with the correct lubricants.
  • Change drive belts, timing belts, and other parts on machinery.
  • Change filters and oils in plant equipment.
  • Change packing/mechanical seal and gaskets in pumps.
  • Maintain water chemistry in necessary systems.
  • Identify and replace bearings and seals as required.
  • Maintain company standards for cleanliness, safety, and productivity in the plant area.
  • Perform minor repairs to coders and labelers.
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration systems and ability to identify main components and function within 90 days.
  • Must be able to read and explain PID drawings within 90 days.
  • Maintain, clean, and inspect HVAC units.
  • Maintain, repair, track, and adjust conveyor belts.
  • Identify and install piping.
  • Repair and place electric motors.
  • Repair and replace vari-drives, speed reducers, vacuum pumps, and product pumps.
  • Ability to wire and troubleshoot a Start/Stop circuit.
  • Perform monthly checks, including safety and food safety.
  • Paint and/or repair surfaces in or around the building and grounds.
  • Welding - TIG, MIG, and arc weld on carbon and stainless steel.
  • Set up and operate tools to make or repair parts.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required; 2-year degree from technical school preferred.
  • 1-3 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools.
Working Conditions

The Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud, and earplugs and hairnets are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards.
