Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in industrial manufacturing equipment maintenance, preferably in the food industry. The role involves providing maintenance support to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Provides maintenance support to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment.
  • Learns machine setup and demonstrates competency within 90 days.
  • Completes daily paperwork and walk-through items, understanding their importance.
  • Ensures compliance with quality, food safety, HAACP, 5S, and OSHA support programs.
  • Identifies problems before they result in a hazard or downtime situation.
  • Assists in major overhauls of plant equipment and performs minor repairs.
  • Lubricates machinery with correct lubricants.
  • Changes drive belts, timing belts, and other parts on machinery.
  • Changes filters and oils in plant equipment.
  • Changes packing/mechanical seal and gaskets in pumps.
  • Maintains water chemistry in necessary systems.
  • Identifies and replaces bearings and seals as required.
  • Maintains company standards for cleanliness, safety, and productivity.
  • Performs minor repairs to coders and labelers.
  • Basic understanding of refrigeration systems and ability to identify main components and function within 90 days.
  • Must be able to read and explain PID drawings within 90 days.
  • Maintains, cleans, and inspects HVAC units.
  • Maintains, repairs, tracks, and adjusts conveyor belts.
  • Identifies and installs piping.
  • Repairs and places electric motors.
  • Repairs and replaces vari-drives, speed reducers, vacuum pumps, and product pumps.
  • Ability to wire and troubleshoot a Start/Stop circuit.
  • Performs monthly checks, including safety and food safety.
  • Paints and/or repairs surfaces in or around the building and grounds.
  • Welds on carbon and stainless steel.
  • Sets up and operates tools to make or repair parts.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED certificate required; 2-year degree from technical school preferred.
  • 1-3 years prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and ability to use basic gauges and measuring tools.
Working Conditions

The Industrial Manufacturing Maintenance Technician will work in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud, and earplugs and hairnets are required.
