Job Title: Waterborne Security Boat Instructor/EMT

Linxx Global Solutions, LLC. is seeking a Waterborne Security Boat Instructor/ Emergency Medical Technician at CENSECFOR Detachment (DET) San Diego, situated within the San Diego Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego, California.

This role is pivotal in supporting the U.S. Navy Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site emergency medical support during all high-risk training evolutions.
  • Be part of all underway training and is considered the administrative assistant to the Contract Site Lead.
  • Keep all contract instructors current with CPR/AED qualifications.
  • Instruct the following high-risk training courses: Level II Coxswain Operations and Tactics; Harbor Security Boat Training Supervisor; and Amphibious Ready Group/Marine Expeditionary Unit Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure Boat Crew Team Training.
  • Conduct training 8 hours per day, 5 days a week (daily activity may extend up to 10 hours), as well as student remediation.
  • Deliver training in accordance with the government-approved curriculum; if required, identify changes to the curriculum using a formal process through the proper chain of command.
  • Provide student performance information and participate in U.S. Navy Academic Review Board Procedures if required.
  • Maintain decorum, order, and safety in the training environment at all times.
  • Participate in all aspects of training delivery preparations and execution, including classroom preparation, student administration, test proctoring, and safety procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in the logistical movement of small craft and associated gear.
  • Experience in tactical operations planning, military decision making, organizational and individual planning, patrol coordination, concepts of operation, warning, patrol, and mission briefing.
  • Capability to perform all training evolutions, including effectively completing weapons qualifications, in the standing, kneeling, and prone positions.
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders and go through narrow passageways without any restrictions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) Certification - requirements for the state of California.
  • Must be a certified CPR/AED Instructor IOT.
  • Navy Instructor Training Course (or military service equivalent), academic credentialing (teacher/professor), or instructor via academic institution (Tidewater Community College MILT 5400 meets the requirements listed above).
  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years documented operational security boat experience serving in one or more of the following:
    • U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewman (SWCC).
    • USCG Deployable Specialized Forces (DSF): Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT), Maritime Safety & Security Team (MSST), Port Security Unit (PSU).
    • USMC Small Craft Company.
    • U.S. Navy Coastal Riverine Forces (CRF) Detachment or Training and Evaluation Unit (TEU).
    • USCG Shore-Based Boat Unit or Maritime Patrol Forces that employ these types of craft: Patrol Boats (WPB), Coastal Patrol Boats (CPB).
    • U.S. Custom and Border Protection (CBP); Marine Interdiction.
  • Possess or be able to qualify as a Second Class Swimmer in accordance with NETC P1552/16 (Navy Swimming and Water Survival Instructors Manual).
  • Possess or be able to obtain a USCG National Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV) of Less Than 100 GRT Near Coastal Waters endorsement or better within one year of reporting.
  • Must have normal color vision (FALANT color vision test and no night blindness).
  • Possess the proficiency and skill sets to safely plan and deliver group-paced instruction on security boat tactics, techniques, and procedures in both a classroom setting and during underway training evolutions utilizing Safety/Operational Risk Management, Classroom Teaching Fundamentals, Training Requirements and Training Plans, and Training Scenario Scripting.
  • Possess a minimum of three (3) years documented tactical and leadership experience in a Maritime Environment, proficient in the operation, maintenance (routine operational maintenance associated with pre-, post, and underway operational checks), employment of Navy Force Protection boats, and be proficient in the following areas:
    • Coxswain Skills.
    • Proficiency in maritime navigation.
    • Have an in-depth understanding of tactical small boat operations.
    • Craft Systems and Sub-Systems.
    • Operation and Maintenance of Craft installed Electronic Navigation systems.
    • Operation and Maintenance of hand held, and installed boat, communication equipment and operating systems (water jet and propeller).
  • Have experience with logistical movement of small craft and associated gear.
  • Prepare craft/gear for over the road transits via prime mover & boat trailer.
  • Possess tactical operations planning experience using a military decision-making process; organizational and individual planning; patrol coordination; development and issuance of a concept of operations, warning, and patrol; and mission debriefing.
  • Possess experience in night operations, low-visibility operations, long-range navigation and operating small boats using Visual Augmentation Systems (VAS) or night vision devices.
