Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive cardiac ultrasound assessments for both inpatient and outpatient settings, which include:
- 2D echocardiography
- Doppler studies
- Stress echocardiograms
- Transesophageal echocardiograms
Additionally, perform other tasks as directed by the supervising manager or lead sonographer.
Deliver advanced technical care utilizing ultrasound technology for patients across various age groups, including adolescents, adults, and seniors. Ensure meticulous documentation and provide preliminary findings from examinations.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
Completion of an accredited ultrasound program or equivalent experience recognized by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).
Experience:
No prior experience required.
Licensure/Certification:
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Certification in echocardiography is required, with options including:
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of relevant experience in a hospital setting as an inpatient or outpatient cardiac sonographer is preferred.
