Job Title: Custom Systems Engineer

Methods Machine Tools, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Custom Systems Engineer to lead the efforts in assembling, robot programming, and testing of automation systems. The successful candidate will travel, install, and train customers on system operations, while assisting in integrating factory and aftermarket options into machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mechanical and electrical assembly and installation of robot and automation system components into machine tools or as standalone cells for various applications.
  • Evaluate and resolve any issues with the form, fit, function, and communication elements of automation cells.
  • Prepare system for test production and demonstration for the customer.
  • Provide automation training at the customer upon installation and phone support long term.
  • Travel to customer sites for support and turnkey runoffs.
Requirements:
  • Strong mechanical & electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to learn Fanuc RoboGuide software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Knowledge in math, geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written & verbal) within all levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to lead effectively and with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to set and meet both team and personal goals by being results oriented.
  • Ability to solicit and accept feedback, implementing changes where necessary.
  • Ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Resolve conflict and issues without management involvement.
  • Assign tasks and deadlines and ensure they are met on time and within budget.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
Education:
  • Technical School certificate, Trade school or BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electromechanical Engineering, or related technical degree.
  • High School Diploma Required.
