Job Overview:

The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients at Community Medical Center. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure proper billing and patient information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients and/or family members to complete registration, obtaining and verifying demographic and financial information.
  • Collect and copy identification and insurance cards, as well as complete and copy consent forms.
  • Accurately complete the Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaire (MSP) and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering phones promptly and relaying messages to the appropriate staff members.
  • Collect deposits, deductibles, and co-pays to meet required cash targets and maintain productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Obtain Advance Medical Directive information and adhere to patient rights, ensuring confidentiality and respect for patient communications and records.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in hospital patient access/registration and EPIC preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance is essential.

Work Schedule:

  • Day shift with Saturday rotation.
  • Per diem schedule, following a period of orientation and training.
