Job Overview

At First Alliance Healthcare of Ohio, we are committed to providing exceptional mental health and substance abuse services to our community. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Peer Supporter Specialist to join our team.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have the ability to utilize their lived experience to provide support to young individuals and families. Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing initial responses with licensed behavioral health staff when available and beneficial
  • FOLLOWING UP WITH RESPONDENTS within scope of practice
  • FOLLOWING THE MRSS PLAN regarding type and frequency of interventions
  • Informing licensed behavioral health staff of new or increased risks and changes in young people's presentations during the MRSS episode of care
  • SUPPORTING THE FAMILY by providing or assisting them to access additional supports
  • Collaborating with the youth and family and other MRSS team members to define family goals and ensure that the MRSS Plan is representative of the family's values, preferences and needs
  • Crisis response and de-escalation
  • Providing interventions including skill building, psychoeducation, role modeling, and advocacy
  • Identifying and connecting the young person and family to natural and other resources, including resources to meet basic needs
  • Work with the young person and family to access and utilize cultural supports
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • HOLD A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE
  • BE A CERTIFIED PEER SUPPORTER
