About the Role- This is a dynamic role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong passion for delivering exceptional patient care, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
Job Responsibilities- Medical Duties: Assist healthcare professionals with various medical procedures, take vital signs, prepare patients for exams, and assist with minor surgical procedures.
- Clerical Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, manage schedules, answer phone calls, and respond to emails.
As a Medical Assistant at Avera Aberdeen Family Physicians, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced healthcare professionals, contribute to the growth and development of the organization, and enhance your own skills and knowledge in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with an associate degree or diploma preferred.
- Six months to one-year related experience and/or training preferred.
- National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA); or National Registration as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologist (AMT); or National Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Career Association and Medical Assistant diploma.
In addition to these qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
Benefits- The hourly range for this position is listed below: $19.25 - $27.00 per hour. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
- Day shift; 72 hours every 2 weeks
- Monday – Thursday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
- Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Paid Time Off (PTO) available on Day 1
