Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Tech to join our team at Touchette Regional Hospital. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care activities as directed by licensed nursing staff, ensuring the highest level of care and compassion.
  • Assume responsibility for assigned clients, prioritizing their needs and well-being.
  • Communicate client status and any changes in condition to the Charge nurse in a timely manner, ensuring seamless care coordination.
  • Respond promptly and cooperatively to direction given by licensed staff, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Record client information accurately and in a timely manner, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Take and record client vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, and capillary blood glucose testing, and inform the nurse of any abnormal results immediately.
  • Monitor clients and document appropriately according to risk precaution level, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Attend in-services, training, and meetings as required, staying up-to-date on the latest best practices and industry developments.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, contributing to the development of policies and procedures that promote excellence in care.
  • Adhere to staffing and scheduling policy, including the use of overtime, and follow the chain of command to resolve any issues or problems that arise.
  • Maintain an active role in maintaining customer service, ensuring that clients receive exceptional care and support.
  • Precept and train other employees as assigned, promoting a culture of learning and growth.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of experience in a healthcare or related setting required.
  • Certification not required, but basic life support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and maintain accurate records.
  • Registered with the IL Department of Health Care Worker.
