Job Summary

Columbia University is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Clinical Practice Operations to provide operational leadership and management of ambulatory clinical practices. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to develop and drive practice optimization efforts, ensuring a consistent, efficient, and patient-centered experience across all assigned sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement practice optimization strategies to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction
  • Collaborate with operational leadership and medical directors to drive practice-wide operational and financial goals
  • Directly supervise operational workflows and ensure optimal use of facilities and resources
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance and productivity, and complete personnel actions as needed
  • Participate in the development of annual personnel/direct expense budgets and investigate ways to control operating expenses
  • Contribute to/participate on projects as directed by Director, and identify and recommend administrative planning and initiatives aimed at facilitating growth and improving operations and patient experience
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent of education and experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience, including experience managing and supervising others
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to set priorities among multiple competing objectives, tasks, and initiatives
  • Demonstrated intermediate or higher proficiency and/or understanding, knowledge, and experience in project development and implementation, process evaluation, and performance and operational improvement in a healthcare delivery system setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Master's degree
  • Previous experience in healthcare operations and/or ambulatory clinical practice
