At Deborah Heart and Lung Center, we are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct and non-direct patient care duties and technical tasks under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Director of Critical Care Nursing.
Responsibilities:
- Performing various patient care duties, including vital sign measurements, medication administration, and wound care.
- Assisting with technical tasks, such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and other related healthcare procedures.
- Providing excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience as a nursing assistant, EKG Technician, Phlebotomist, or other related healthcare experience.
- High School Degree or equivalency, with completion of Patient Care or Multi-skilled Tech certification program.
- American Heart BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Preferred: Nurse Aide certification, EKG certification, and/or Phlebotomy certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Arrhythmia recognition program within 3 months of hire.
- Excellent computer skills for hospital information systems.
- Ability to read and write English.
Work Environment:
This is a per diem position, working 7P - 7A shift. If you are a motivated and compassionate individual with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
