About the Role

Cleveland Clinic Florida Research and Innovation Center (FRIC) is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our research organization, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing novel computational methods to analyze genomic data sets, implementing statistical models, and contributing to research studies focusing on infectious disease and immuno-oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with faculty members, postdocs, and researchers to understand and evaluate their biological questions and computational needs, providing consultation for a wide array of genomics studies.
  • Support diverse bioinformatics analyses, including single-cell RNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, methyl-seq, and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Develop methods, novel algorithms, and high-level data analysis pipelines that integrate implementation, visualization, and database management of multi-dimensional biological datasets.
  • Provide researchers with computational data, figures, methods, documentation, and overall bioinformatics support to meet project goals and publications.
  • Support analysis needs of multiple research projects from different laboratories simultaneously.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to provide training, mentoring, and instruction to researchers on bioinformatics resources and data analysis.
  • Utilize methods in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to design and implement data solutions.
  • Build complex predictive models, mix models, attribution models, and other mathematical or statistical models as needed, using modeling tools.
  • Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge data analysis methods and publications in bioinformatics, genomics, and statistics.
  • Develop service-related charge infrastructure for researchers utilizing bioinformatics services.
Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, software engineering, bioinformatics, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of related experience working with statistical modeling, machine learning, or complex data analysis. Strong quantitative and computational background with extensive experience in genomics/transcriptomics is required. Proficiency in R, Python, git, UNIX, and other scientific workflow tools is essential.
