About the Role

Cleveland Clinic Florida Research and Innovation Center is seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for designing and implementing novel computational methods to analyze genomic data sets, developing statistical models, and contributing to research studies focusing on infectious disease and immuno-oncology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with faculty members, postdocs, and researchers to understand and evaluate their biological questions and computational needs.
  • Support diverse bioinformatics analyses, including single-cell RNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, methyl-seq, and spatial transcriptomics.
  • Develop methods, novel algorithms, and high-level data analysis pipelines that integrate implementation, visualization, and database management of multi-dimensional biological datasets.
  • Provide researchers with computational data, figures, methods, documentation, and overall bioinformatics support to meet project goals and publications.
  • Support analysis needs of multiple research projects from different laboratories simultaneously.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to provide training, mentoring, and instruction to researchers on bioinformatics resources and data analysis.
  • Utilize methods in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing to design and implement data solutions.
  • Build complex predictive models, mix models, attribution models, and other mathematical or statistical models as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge data analysis methods and publications in bioinformatics, genomics, and statistics.
  • Develop service-related charge infrastructure for researchers utilizing bioinformatics services.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in computer science, statistics, software engineering, bioinformatics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience, working with statistical modeling, machine learning, or complex data analysis.
  • Strong quantitative and computational background with extensive experience in genomics/transcriptomics.
  • Use of bioinformatics computations in high-performance compute clusters and bash scripting, and pipeline development and implementation.
  • Proficient in R, Python, git, UNIX, and other scientific workflow tools.
