Job Title: R&D Software Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Software Developer to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our Applied Research Laboratories, you will be responsible for developing and implementing signal processing algorithms for sonar and underwater acoustics.

Responsibilities:
  • Implement and verify signal processing algorithms in real and non-real configurations.
  • Analyze high frequency sonar data to identify patterns and trends.
  • Research and develop new signal and detection processing algorithms to improve system performance.
  • Document and present work performed to the team and stakeholders.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned by the team lead.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or computer science.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability to use signal and statistical processing software.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software.
  • US citizenship required due to government security clearance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical or computer engineering/science with one or more years of related experience.
  • Experience with developing, implementing, and testing signal processing algorithms.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis and strong MATLAB programming skills.
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or UNIX environments and some experience in C and/or C++ programming.
  • Cumulative GPA 3.0 or above.
