Key Responsibilities

Primary Job Functions:

This Software Engineer IV position directly supports the Advanced Hypersonic Weapons & Guided Munitions Division (E20) at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). The role involves conducting research and development analyses in various technical areas, including guided munitions (both guided and unguided projectiles), guided missiles, advanced fire control systems, and high-speed projectiles.

This position requires an active SECRET security clearance. The role accommodates a hybrid telework model, allowing for telework up to 40% as permitted by the government customer, with the remainder of the work conducted at the designated customer site.

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Experience:
    • A minimum of twelve (12) years of relevant technical experience.
    • At least six (6) years of specialized experience in sensor integration and fire control systems, including computer hardware engineering, software design, coding, and systems integration. Specialized experience should demonstrate the ability to engineer complex systems with integrated software and hardware solutions, particularly in relation to weapons systems and Navy programs utilizing agile software design methodologies, such as HTML, C/C++, Unix, and Linux.
  • Clearance Requirement:
    • Must possess an active US DoD SECRET Clearance.
