Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our food bank store. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing store operations, supervising staff, and controlling budgets.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and purchases, ensuring they stay within budget and meet customer demands.
  • Customer Service: Deal with customer complaints, maintaining the store's reputation and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Store Maintenance: Inspect store areas, resolving any issues that may arise and ensuring a safe and clean environment.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays, keeping abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze sales and revenue reports, making forecasts and recommendations to improve store performance.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure the store fulfills all legal health and safety guidelines, managing risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Grant Management: Plan the bank budget, prepares grant proposals, and plans fund-raising activities and public relations efforts to enhance public awareness of hunger.
  • Food Distribution: Manages the acquisition and distribution of food, evaluating inventory choices, cost comparisons on food products, and processing weekly distribution to partners.
  • Logistics and Administration: Arranges for food pick-up or delivery, approves food invoices for payment, and maintains records of food distributed and dollars spent on food distribution.
  • Reporting and Budgeting: Assesses needs, develops a proposed budget, and prepares reports, maintaining records and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a hospitality, restaurant, or store manager, with a strong track record in customer service and staff supervision.
  • Skills: Solid understanding of health department and food handling procedures and best practices, knowledge of quality standards, and proficiency in MS Office and relevant software.
  • Leadership: Excellent organizational and leadership skills, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting files, boxes, and food items, bending, reaching, and stooping to gather food items.
Education Requirements
  • Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of retail management software, analytical mind, and familiarity with data analysis principles, commercial awareness, and knowledge of retail management best practices.
  • Qualifications: Proven experience as a retail manager or in other managerial positions, BS/BA in business administration, sales, or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
