Overview:
The individual in this position will be responsible for analyzing, organizing, executing, and coordinating various assignments. This role requires an exploration of the subject matter, defining the scope, selecting areas for investigation, and developing and implementing innovative concepts. Key technologies of interest include solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage solutions, electric vehicles, and utility-scale wind energy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in assigned innovation areas.
- Oversee small to medium-sized projects without direct reports.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to stakeholders and provide data-driven insights.
- Stay informed about industry trends and challenges in relevant technical fields.
- Research, develop, and apply suitable machine learning algorithms and tools to enhance the performance and design of renewable energy systems.
- Collaborate with national and international industry experts.
- Engage with the research community and technology developers to guide technology development goals.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to solve problems and identify improvement opportunities.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned.
Required Work Experience:
- Expertise in two or more of the following areas:
- Solar photovoltaic design
- Battery storage system design
- Geospatial data analysis and forecasting
- AI applications in renewable energy
- Demonstrated analytical skills in two or more of the following areas:
- Model creation, statistical analysis, and system performance optimization
- Designing and developing machine learning and deep learning systems
- Solar resource assessment
- Optimal solar and storage sizing
- Exhibit a high level of technical expertise and take responsibility for specialized technical objectives.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Educational Requirements:
- One of the following education and experience combinations:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field from an ABET accredited program with 5+ years of proven experience.
- Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field with 3+ years of proven experience.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field (Preferred) with 0-2 years of proven experience.
