Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engineering and design services for projects involving new runway and taxiway layouts, improvements to existing pavements, airfield lighting systems, hangar configurations, and fencing. Experience in designing drainage structures related to airfields, such as culverts, storm drains, and detention systems is crucial.
  • Oversee the creation of airport design documentation, including plans and profiles, grading and drainage layouts, markings, NAVAIDS, lighting, and other design components typical of airport construction drawings.
  • Prepare estimates for engineering budgets and timelines to align with project objectives.
  • Independently execute all necessary tasks to finalize primary design elements for engineering projects.
  • Utilize technical expertise to review, approve, and seal engineering work.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and technical staff in design and drafting.
  • Ensure adherence to KSA practices, quality standards, safety protocols, and governmental design regulations throughout project execution.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in aviation or transportation engineering.
  • Possession of a current Professional Engineering License in Texas or the ability to obtain one within four months.
  • Experience in producing and delivering construction drawings and specifications for airport or transportation projects.
  • Proficient in advanced Civil3D applications, particularly in corridor modeling, grading, and drainage design.
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite, including TEAMS, Word, Excel, Newforma, and Bluebeam.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary airport improvement projects.
  • Background in construction administration for public infrastructure.
  • Experience delivering aviation or transportation projects for public entities in Texas.
  • Experience managing survey, Geotech, and other subconsultants.
  • Experience in proposal preparation and interviews.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
