Responsibilities in this Role:
- Takes responsibility and accountability for the care of patients treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapy technicians. May be tasked with orienting staff and students and assuming supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor.
- Evaluates patients' needs; identifies and initiates suitable physical therapy interventions; collaborates effectively with other team members to uphold standards for professional physical therapy practice and interdisciplinary cooperation.
- Monitors and assesses treatment effectiveness, achieving both short-term and long-term goals. Suggests modifications to the physician when necessary.
- Conducts thorough assessments on each patient and performs follow-up evaluations as per established protocols. Completes accurate and timely Quality Improvement (QI) scoring. The patient demographic includes adults and geriatrics requiring a medical rehabilitation program.
- Capable of assessing patient discomfort that affects optimal functioning and participation in rehabilitation; implements appropriate interventions to alleviate pain; communicates with physicians for necessary interventions.
- Develops and updates individualized care plans for physical therapy.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice.
- Preferred experience in inpatient rehabilitation.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
