Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled PRN Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse to join our team at Stone Oak Surgicenter. The ideal candidate will provide safe and effective nursing care to patients postoperatively until their discharge from the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients' care area and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are provided
  • Demonstrate proper airway management techniques
  • Monitor patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.)
  • Exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks
  • Perform and document head-to-toe evaluation of patients utilizing an approved scoring system
  • Check dressings and/or operative site and report abnormalities to the surgeon
  • Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and their families
  • Ensure patients meet discharge criteria

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
  • 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU, or Surgery
  • Active RN license as required by state of employment
  • BCLS Certification upon employment. Online certification not acceptable
  • ACLS required within 30 days of hire
  • PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire
