Job Summary:

Mediacom Communications is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Engineering to lead our Engineering team in the design, deployment, and maintenance of our Headend, IP, HSD, VOD, VoIP, and Digital Video systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement plans and procedures for constructing, operating, and maintaining our systems.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Technology group to design and implement effective solutions for our customers based on current and future network topologies.
  • Develop and maintain positive communication with vendors to diagnose and rectify problems.
  • Participate in capital budgeting as it relates to engineering new services.
  • Hire and develop engineering team members.
  • Facilitate goal setting and development of performance measurement tools to manage staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all FCC and other regulatory entities.
  • Inform the Vice President, Engineering, of unresolved technical issues in a clear and timely manner.
  • Develop and participate in technical disaster recovery plans.
  • Contribute to the Company's vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy, and teamwork.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of industry or related industry experience.
  • Strong leadership skills with previous management experience.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Products (Visio, Excel, Word), and use of CAD systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • VOD systems knowledge preferred.
  • Understanding of engineering based on ROI and IRR preferred.
  • IP background a plus.
