Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute reinsurance buying strategies to optimize AXIS Capital's gross and net portfolio.
  • Manage a team of reinsurance professionals in our New York City office, providing guidance and support to ensure successful placement outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with reinsurers and brokers, leveraging your extensive network and expertise to drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization to ensure seamless execution of outwards placement processes and relationship management.
  • Prepare and present complex information to leadership and governance committees, demonstrating your ability to communicate effectively and persuasively.
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of reinsurance buying, underwriting, or pricing experience, with a strong understanding of property and casualty lines written in the North American market.
  • Broad network of relationships with brokers and reinsurers in North America.
  • Ability to present complex information to leadership in a compelling manner, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to apply advanced expertise and professional concepts in novel ways.
  • Ability to review and identify drafting requirements in respect of reinsurance contract wording.
  • Ability to deliver outcomes that reflect stakeholder interests at business and group level.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive base salary in the range of $275,000 to $350,000, depending on experience and location, as well as target incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. This role is exempt for FLSA purposes and requires domestic and international travel, with the ability to work outside normal office hours as needed.
