Job Summary

Abundant Solutions is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist/Drill Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating numerical control machines to perform various machining functions.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate numerical control machines to perform cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
  • Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and work pieces on machines using overhead cranes.
  • Assemble cutting tools in tool holders and position tool holders in machine spindles as specified or insert cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
  • Load control media such as tape, card, or disk, in machine controllers or enter commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from databases.
  • Calculate and set machine controls to position spindles in relation to work pieces and regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
  • Manipulate controls and enter commands to index cutting tools to specified set points and start machines.
  • Monitor displays and machine operations to detect malfunctions and adjust machine feed and speed as needed.
  • Measure work pieces for conformance to specifications and enter commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
  • Operate machines manually to perform functions when automatic programming is faulty or machines malfunction.
  • Notify supervisors of discrepancies and discuss control media errors with supervisors or programming personnel to resolve problems.
  • Maintain production records of parts and jobs fabricated as required by department managers.
  • Clean machines, tooling, and parts, and perform some machine maintenance.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Ability to work 5 PM – 1:30 AM shifts with overtime as needed.
  • Pay: $22 + depending on experience.
