Job Title: Public Health Registered Nurse

International SOS Government Medical Services is seeking a highly skilled Public Health Registered Nurse to support our public health initiatives in Iraq.

Job Summary:

The Public Health Registered Nurse will be responsible for promoting and protecting the health of the community through inspections, assessments, education, policy advocacy, and direct patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support public health oversight for all food facilities, public facilities, Meals Ready to Eat (MREs), incoming food shipments, foodborne illness outbreaks, and vulnerability assessments of food facilities in Iraq.
  • Review facility inspections to ensure all facilities meet requirements, ensures appropriate food handlers training is completed, reviews food service workers' medical requirements, and publishes results.
  • Promote public health education and awareness efforts.
  • Maintain compliance within all project site procedures, standards, and continuing educational and mandatory training requirements.
  • Other duties as required, including direct patient care and response to public health incidents.
Qualifications:
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia or
  • Current and unrestricted Paramedic license from state of residence and National Registry EMT-P.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Current ServSafe certification.
  • Additional Public Health certifications from USDA, individual states, or associations preferred.
  • 2+ years' relevant experience, preferably abroad or in austere environment, including 6 months' experience within the past year.
  • Prior relevant military experience preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Education Required:
  • Associates, Bachelors or Master of Science in Nursing - Candidates must be a graduate of a school of nursing that was approved and/or accredited by the appropriate State agency and accredited by either the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) at the time the program was completed or
  • Certification as a Paramedic or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) from a recognized program.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping and lifting to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
  • Valid US Passport with at least 6 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay in Iraq.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically a MRPT. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.
  • Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.

Compensation: $115,000 - $130,000 per year, plus a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, 401k plan, paid time off, and an annual bonus.
