Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as an Area-Transmission Planner. This role is responsible for planning and implementing transmission projects to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our transmission system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement transmission plans to meet customer needs and ensure compliance with NERC/WECC reliability standards.
  • Conduct engineering studies, design documents, and performance assessments to support transmission project planning and implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize transmission projects and develop project plans.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of transmission system operations, including power flow and dynamic analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and emerging trends in transmission planning and engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in transmission planning, transmission system engineering, and/or transmission system planning.
  • Knowledge of NERC and WECC reliability standards, as well as applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, including automated tools and software applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Power Option (particularly Power System Analysis)
  • Advanced Degree
  • Knowledge of NERC and WECC reliability standards
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification
