We are seeking a highly skilled Consulting Pharmacist to join our team at NHS Management Services. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a vital role in providing quality pharmacy consulting services to long-term care residents.
Key Responsibilities- Perform monthly medication reviews for each resident within assigned LTC facilities, identifying irregularities and reporting concerns to the Director of Nursing, Administrator, and attending physician.
- Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness, potential interactions, and route of administration based on documented diagnosis, lab results, and resident assessment.
- Implement corporate clinical initiatives and work with the Director of Clinical Services to manage cost containment programs, including DURs.
- Apply knowledge of pharmacy laws and state and federal laws governing long-term care pharmacy services into monthly consultant reviews.
- Assist with account management, client services, and customer service issues.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy or PharmD.
- Current licensure in the state(s) of practice.
- Current consultant license in the state of practice (if applicable).
- 1 year consulting experience in a long-term care environment, preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to quickly identify problems and find effective solutions.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Excel and Word preferred.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel, including overnight.
