Job Description:

The Systems Analyst IV plays a critical role in the development and support of applications used by staff at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. This position requires a strong analytical mind and excellent communication skills to coordinate and plan the development of new systems and the improvement of existing ones.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop computer programs, subroutines, triggers, stored procedures, objects, classes, and scripts in support of one or more applications.
  • Perform analysis, research, and interpretation of business requirements to document technical requirements and develop technical specifications.
  • Establish and maintain development standards to ensure the quality and maintainability of one or more applications.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of systems documentation and ensure that content is well organized, complete, and appropriate to the audience.
  • Document all system development activities in accordance with Agency Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Project Management Lifecycle (PMLC) guidelines.
  • Participate in peer-code walk-throughs to ensure the integrity of the solution and its data.
  • Ensure project schedules are met and communicate progress and issues to the Team Manager and/or Project Manager.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other functional/technical team members to coordinate development efforts.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and Project Management Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of Batch or data processing in an automated scheduled environment.
  • Knowledge of Java platform or similar developer platforms.
  • Knowledge of technical and functional requirements of financial applications.
  • Skill with development and maintenance using Oracle SQL and/or PL-SQL or similar developer tools.
  • Skill with Microsoft Office Suite productivity tools.
  • Ability to provide effective customer service.
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks accurately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a technical environment.

Working Conditions:

This position requires daily, weekly, and weekend on-call work in support of the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services operations. The position is % telework within the state of Texas and requires that the candidate maintain personal wi-fi and webcam capabilities during work hours to perform their duties.
