Qualifications for the Activity Assistant Role:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CNA certification is required.
  • Preferred completion of a 90-hour activity course.
  • Minimum of one year of general work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and scheduling community activities and programs, ensuring effective communication with residents to encourage participation.
  • Conduct assigned programs, including individual visits.
  • Support residents during outings and field trips.
  • Facilitate transportation for residents to and from activities.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records for residents.
  • Assist in documentation, including daily attendance and individual visit records.
  • Collaborate with local community groups to develop joint projects that benefit residents.
  • Ensure availability of supplies for various activities and programs.
  • Contribute to residents' care planning by providing insights on assessments, care plan goals, and progress notes.
  • Support the CNA in household tasks such as bed making, light housekeeping, and providing assistance during meals.
