If you possess experience in structural design, construction, or construction management, and have a passion for investigating why structures or building components fail or how to repair structural damage, this position will be of interest to you. Typical projects may involve assessing damage from weather, fire, or water, as well as addressing soil movement, drainage, foundation issues, and construction defects. Key attributes for success include technical expertise, effective communication skills with non-technical stakeholders, and the motivation to complete individual projects.

Engineering Design & Testing Corp. (EDT) is a collective of engineers dedicated to the investigation, interpretation, and resolution of loss. Civil/Structural Engineer Role: In this role, you will conduct and oversee investigations related to buildings, structures, and structural components. Responsibilities include structural analysis, damage assessment, ensuring compliance with building codes, conducting lab and field tests of construction materials, and reviewing structural designs. You will engage with clients and other consultants, manage multiple unique projects, and prepare comprehensive reports summarizing your findings.

Successful engineers at EDT possess the following technical qualifications, professional skills, and personal attributes:

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
  • Advanced Technical Education degrees (a plus)
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g., MathCAD, AutoCAD, MS Office)
  • Experience in Industrial/Manufacturing/Design
