We are currently in search of a proficient Civil Engineering Estimator and/or Design Engineer to enhance our growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the design team to create comprehensive and effective roadway designs, ensuring adherence to local regulations, industry standards, and project requirements.
- Assist in crafting project plans, feasibility studies, and cost projections for roadway infrastructure initiatives.
- Select suitable materials and draft engineering specifications for road construction and maintenance endeavors.
- Develop alignment and geometric designs for roads, intersections, and other transportation facilities, prioritizing safety and accessibility for all users.
- Secure necessary permits and approvals from relevant authorities for roadway projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide technical assistance during construction phases, including reviewing plans, addressing design challenges, and supervising project advancement.
- Conduct inspections and quality assurance checks to guarantee adherence to design standards and specifications.
- Incorporate environmental considerations into roadway design, taking into account factors such as stormwater management and environmental impact assessments.
- Assist in tracking project progress, budgets, and timelines.

- Develop comprehensive sets of structural drawings and technical specifications independently.
- Mentor and train Engineers-In-Training (EITs) in structural engineering.
- Perform structural design calculations, oversee plan production activities, and prepare project document submissions while maintaining a Quality Control program for the entire project.
- Lead and support construction phase efforts on building projects in structural engineering.
- Engage in meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, and design team members.
- Contribute to identifying project opportunities through networking with new and existing clients.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant engineering design experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required – a degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical engineering is preferred, and training will be provided.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) License is preferred; consideration will be given to EIT candidates.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as Microstation, Open Roads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Sketchup, with the ability to produce drawings and details as needed.
- Familiarity with structural analysis and design software, including STAAD, RAM, E-Tabs, MathCAD, TEDDS, ADAPT PT, and other related design software.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, roadway design standards, and traffic engineering principles.
- Proven ability to analyze complex engineering challenges and devise effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
- A collaborative and adaptable work approach, with the ability to function effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Commitment to staying informed on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in roadway engineering.
- Strong sense of urgency and self-discipline to meet client deadlines.
