About the Logistics & Storage Engineering Division:
The Logistics & Storage (L&S) division offers project management and engineering design services to support the ongoing expansion and upkeep of Marathon's Logistics & Storage organization.
The L&S division encompasses four main components:
- Logistics & Storage Support Services: Provides engineering design and project management to various operational sectors.
- Terminals: Plays a key role in delivering quality products safely and reliably.
- Transport & Rail: Facilitates the transportation of crude oil and refined products to various end users.
- Marine: Operates a private fleet for the transportation of petroleum products.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Engineer within L3S, you will oversee and ensure the successful execution of a diverse range of projects at our facilities. These projects may vary from minor maintenance tasks to significant multi-million-dollar initiatives, typically involving:
- Petroleum product storage tanks
- Terminal facilities
- Pipeline infrastructure
Project Engineers will guide their projects through the Marathon Project Management Process (MPMP), which includes the following phases:
- Conceptual
- Feasibility
- Definition
- Implementation
- Start-up/Close-out
Additional Duties Include:
- Defining project scope
- Providing engineering oversight
- Conducting technical design
- Estimating costs
- Developing schedules
- Evaluating bid sets
- Supervising construction
- Leading safety initiatives
- Coordinating with operational teams
- Documenting project progress
Travel may be required, ranging from 35-45%.
Qualifications:
Required Major: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Corrosion Engineering
Education Level: Bachelor's degree
Graduation Timeline: Candidates graduating in the near future are encouraged to apply.
Academic Performance: Strong academic record is essential.
Candidates must possess authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time, indefinite basis without the need for visa sponsorship. Projects may necessitate travel to construction sites, thus a valid driver's license is required. Military experience is considered a plus.
