Enterprise Network Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team at VELCO. As a key member of our Telecommunications Group, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex network systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement carrier class statistical (IP) and TDM networking solutions with consideration of traffic loading and bandwidth allocation.
- Manage and operate high-capacity optical transport systems, microwave systems, and land mobile radio networks.
- Develop and maintain thorough understanding of telecommunication transport technologies and standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize network projects and initiatives.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior staff members and external customers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and apply knowledge to improve network performance and security.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in information technology or networking, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 7-10 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong background in carrier class telecommunications.
- Extensive knowledge of network security, firewalling, and related protocol analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex technical information to committees, management, and external regulators.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment with competing priorities and tight timelines.
VELCO offers a competitive salary range of $101,000 to $142,000, with most offers falling between $101,000-$122,000. We also offer a hybrid work environment, with the expectation of spending at least two days per week onsite and more as needed.
