POSITION SUMMARY:

The Resource Navigator plays a crucial role in connecting and supporting individuals and families eligible for various family enhancement programs, including parent education, mental health services, rental assistance, tax preparation, family law, and basic needs referrals in Tulare County. This role involves implementing a recognized home visitation curriculum that focuses on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and overall family wellness. The Resource Navigator will work with families in a culturally sensitive manner, utilizing the approved curriculum to facilitate partnerships and reflections. Strong customer service experience is required, along with a background in helping individuals connect with community resources. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure a comprehensive needs assessment is conducted promptly upon referral.
  • Maintain active navigation of resources and engagement activities, achieving a minimum number of contacts weekly.
  • Deliver presentations to partner organizations and actively seek new connections.
  • Keep detailed records to monitor progress and outcomes.
  • Encourage community involvement and responsibility through participation in advisory meetings and events.
  • Enhance knowledge of community services and share information about opportunities with teams.
  • Provide follow-up services to ensure participants achieve their goals and successful outcomes.
  • Facilitate community meetings to inform and deliver services.
  • Engage in collaborative community meetings to learn about available services and promote the organization.
  • Stay informed about local labor market trends, program requirements, and regulations affecting participants and employers.
  • Refer participants to other relevant program resources as needed.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

This position reports to the Site Coordinator and does not involve supervising other staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:

  • Familiarity with local community-based organizations and service providers.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to build and maintain strong working relationships with team members, agency representatives, and the public.
  • Skills in public relations and marketing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and community members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred, along with one to two years of relevant experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in case management or knowledge of social services is advantageous.

LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and effectively present information to groups.

Ability to perform basic calculations for accounting purposes and apply bookkeeping principles.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and address problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATIONS:

A valid California Driver's License and proof of auto insurance are required.
