Position Overview:

As a Senior Associate, you will exhibit outstanding project management and editorial capabilities. You will lead small teams to achieve remarkable results through collaborative efforts and play a vital role in significant client interactions. Key responsibilities include:

Communications Responsibilities:

  • Translating complex ideas into clear and actionable messages for a varied audience by developing and refining key messages, fact sheets, social media content, and engaging digital materials.
  • Engaging media professionals by identifying suitable media contacts, crafting persuasive pitches and press releases, and building relationships with journalists and major media outlets.
  • Enhancing the visibility of influential voices by refining opinion pieces during critical moments, preparing them for interviews, and drafting speeches and talking points for various occasions.
  • Tracking and evaluating trends in media coverage, significant announcements, emerging evidence, and high-level discussions that may influence urgent global health matters.

Advocacy Responsibilities:

  • Spotting strategic opportunities and nurturing new advocates to influence key stakeholders and advance our clients' strategic goals.
  • Harmonizing partners' viewpoints through careful coordination, relationship management, and ensuring message consistency.
  • Facilitating collaboration among partners, influencers, and decision-makers by overseeing major tasks at high-profile events, including selecting attendees and speakers, and developing agendas or presentations.
  • Building new alliances in support of initiatives through dedicated outreach, organization, and relationship cultivation.
  • Staying informed about trends in global health policies and funding opportunities.

Client and Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Taking charge of critical initiatives by defining a vision and strategy and promptly mobilizing teams for successful execution.
  • Leading essential elements of client discussions and meetings.
  • Maintaining transparent communication with supervisors regarding progress and challenges, proactively presenting solutions to potential issues.
  • Demonstrating expertise in understanding the complexities and context of global health and development to construct compelling arguments and provide insightful counsel to clients.
  • Mentoring team members in writing, client interactions, and time management.
  • Representing clients at events and meetings alongside senior management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 3-6 years of professional experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Exceptional writing skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in a foreign language (especially French or Spanish).
  • International work experience.
  • Experience in communications, public relations, or journalism.
  • Background in public health, global development, or campaigns.
  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suite tools (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) or Canva.

Salary Range in NYC: $65,000 - $70,000
